Caring behavior is a cornerstone of quality nursing care in hospital settings.
Identifying factors influencing nurses' caring behaviors is crucial for improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Purpose of the Study:

To synthesize existing knowledge on factors affecting nurses' caring behaviors in hospitals.
To provide a comprehensive overview of the drivers of compassionate nursing practice.

Main Methods:

A scoping review following Arksey and O'Malley's framework.
Literature search across major databases (PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar) for studies published 2015-2025.
Inclusion of peer-reviewed original research measuring caring behavior in hospital nurses.

Main Results:

34 studies were included, comprising quantitative, mixed-methods, and qualitative research.
Key influencing factors were categorized into: demographic, work-related, psychosocial, ethical/moral/professional, and leadership/organizational.
Positive associations found with age, education, income, job satisfaction, emotional intelligence, resilience, moral sensitivity, professional values, leadership, and organizational support.

Conclusions:

Multiple factors significantly influence nurses' caring behaviors in hospital environments.
Healthcare leaders should leverage these findings to develop targeted strategies promoting caring practices.
Further qualitative research is recommended to deepen understanding of nurses' perspectives on caring.
