Abstract
None:
Molecules with free-rotating phenyl rings flanking a silacycle exhibit aggregation-induced emission (AIE) with high sensitivity to the local environment. Using ultrafast electronic and vibrational (stimulated Raman) spectroscopies, we unveil real-time structural dynamics of Si-based AIE molecules in incipient aggregation states with specific interactions with water in a binary solvent mixture.
