Comment on: Echocardiographic phenotypes in sepsis: identifying subgroups using latent profile analysis

In this comment, we aim to provide a perspective on the study by Shvilkina et al. entitled "Echocardiographic phenotypes in sepsis: identifying subgroups using latent profile analysis". After summarizing the principal findings, we discuss several issues related to the interpretation of cluster-based phenotypes. These considerations highlight important methodological limitations that may influence the validity and clinical applicability of the proposed phenotypes.
