Work-related stress poses a significant challenge to both individual well-being and organizational efficiency. In this framework technologies such as smartphone applications offer promising solutions. However, optimal strategies for maximising their effectiveness remain insufficiently understood. Using data from WellBe!, an app designed for stress management and well-being, this preliminary study identifies user profiles based on well-being and personal resources, examines their stability, and explores how digital interventions affect changes over time through latent profile and transition analyses. A total of 241 participants took part in a three-week, multi-group study. The intervention group used the app daily, while the control group maintained their usual routines. Four distinct user profiles were identified, ranging from individuals struggling with well-being and emotional stability to those with the highest levels of well-being, with intermediate profiles characterised by a balance between stress and effective coping. Analysis of profile transitions suggested that participants with profiles indicating greater difficulty in managing stress who participate in the digital intervention have greater probabilities of transitioning into a profile with better coping skills and greater resources. Changes tended to occur gradually, with shifts between adjacent profiles rather than extreme transformations. This effect was not observed in the control group, where profiles remained stable. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
