Chinese expert consensus on radiotherapy combined with immunotherapy for unresectable lung cancer (2026 Edition)

In recent years, the combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy has emerged as a major focus of research in the treatment of unresectable lung cancer. With a growing understanding of the synergistic mechanisms between radiotherapy and immunotherapy, together with the accumulation of clinical evidence, this combined approach has demonstrated promising therapeutic potential. Members of the Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, the Radiation Oncology Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, the Lung Cancer Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, the Small Cell Lung Cancer Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), and the Lung Cancer Group of the Respiratory Diseases Branch of the Chinese Medical Association systematically reviewed recent high-quality evidence regarding radiotherapy combined with immunotherapy for unresectable non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. Through extensive discussion and multiple rounds of revision, this consensus has been updated from the 2024 version to provide the latest evidence-based recommendations and practical guidance for clinical decision-making.
