    Summary

    Textured breast implants do not significantly reduce malposition compared to smooth implants, despite widespread use. This systematic review found no statistical superiority for textured devices in preventing implant malposition.

    Main Results:

    • Nine studies with 3240 patients were included.
    • Malposition rates were 5.2% (textured) and 8.9% (smooth), with no statistically significant difference.
    • No significant differences in capsular contracture, seroma, or rippling; higher infection rates in textured group (inconsistent).

    Conclusions:

    • Textured breast implants show no statistically significant advantage over smooth implants in reducing malposition.
    • Further research is needed due to study heterogeneity and retrospective designs.
    • No cases of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma were reported.
