Summary
The timing of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure after pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum (PA-IVS) valvotomy is debated. A zero-contrast technique is a feasible option for renal dysfunction in these patients.
Area of Science:
- Pediatric Cardiology
- Congenital Heart Disease
- Interventional Cardiology
Background:
- The optimal timing for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure post-valvotomy in pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum (PA-IVS) is not well-established.
- PA-IVS is a complex congenital heart defect requiring careful management of pulmonary blood flow and systemic perfusion.
