Main trees in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and their relationship with pollen allergy

Objective:
Identify the main tree species of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and their relationship with allergies.
Methods:
Observational, cross-sectional and descriptive study, carried out with the intention of identifying the trees. An inventory of the most frequent trees from the AMG urban tree database was carried out and the species with the highest relationship to allergic diseases were identified.
Results:
A total of 49,138 trees were identified; the most common species were the Ficus, Orange Tree, Palm, Cypress, Guava and Ash. Of the 15 most common species, Cypress, Ash, Casuarina, Eucalyptus, and Thunder are of greater allergology relevance.
Conclusions:
Due to the increase in allergic diseases, such as allergy to tree pollen, it is important to have inventories that identify the species that may be related to these conditions, both for allergists and health authorities.
