Researchers found teratological (abnormal) ticks, specifically ectromely (missing leg) in Ixodes (Afrixodes) ticks collected from wildlife in Central Africa. This is the first report of such abnormalities in Ixodes (A.) rasus and Ixodes (A.) spp. from this region.
