Effect of Noise-Reduction Management Combined with Extended Postoperative Care on Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic

Objective:
This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of implementing noise reduction management combined with an extended postoperative care model in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC).
Methods:
A retrospective analysis was conducted using data from 78 patients who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Based on the nursing care protocol, patients were divided into a control group ( n = 39) and a study group ( n = 39). The control group received routine care, whereas the study group received noise reduction management combined with extended postoperative care. The two groups were compared in terms of pain levels, sleep quality, gastrointestinal discomfort symptoms, quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
Results:
No significant differences were observed between the two groups in baseline data (all P- values >0.05). Compared with the control group, the study group showed significantly lower postoperative pain scores at 2 weeks (Numerical Rating Scale score: 1.53 ± 0.84 vs. 2.05 ± 1.33, t = 1.998, P = 0.049), as well as significantly improved gastrointestinal symptoms (total Gastrointestinal Symptom score: F = 22.43, P < 0.001), enhanced quality of life (Gastrointestinal Quality of Life Index at 8 weeks: 124.2 ± 5.38 vs. 115.4 ± 4.69, t = 2.66, P = 0.009), better sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index daytime dysfunction at 2 weeks: 4.37 ± 1.35 vs. 5.89 ± 1.56, t = 2.15, P = 0.035) and increased nursing satisfaction (Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scale score: 86.69 ± 7.31 vs. 78.34 ± 5.93, t = 5.54, P < 0.001).
Conclusion:
This retrospective study suggests that integrating noise reduction management with extended postoperative care may be associated with favourable outcomes in LC patients, including reduced postoperative pain, fewer gastrointestinal symptoms, improved sleep quality and enhanced quality of life and nursing satisfaction.
