This composite case report advances the field of spiritual care assessment by applying the evidence-based Spiritual Assessment and Intervention Model in the pediatric hematology/oncology setting. Spiritual assessment is the standard of care for pediatric cancer patients, yet research in this area is limited. The case of five-year-old "Manuel" and his father "Luis" is described through dialogue with a chaplain. Family Systems Theory and the work of Rebecca Nye on children's spirituality augment Spiritual AIM and strengthen the provision of spiritual care in the pediatric setting.
