Summary

Single-sided deafness (SSD) and asymmetric hearing loss (AHL) cochlear implant (CI) candidates have different patient-reported outcomes than bilateral hearing loss (HL) candidates, despite similar speech recognition in the implanted ear. Contralateral ear scores better predict functional hearing.
