Abstract:
The helmeted hornbill (Rhinoplax vigil) is a Critically Endangered species, primarily due to illegal wildlife trade and habitat loss. This species is a large Asian hornbill inhabiting primary tropical rainforests across Southeast Asia. A complete genome assembly of R. vigil is reported here, providing an important genomic resource for research and applications in conservation, evolution, wildlife forensic science, and tropical forest ecology.
