Unilateral Testicular Agenesis in an Infant With a Transmedian Segmental Scrotal Hemangioma

Abstract:
A 6-week-old male infant presented with a unilateral nonpalpable testis and a transmedian segmental scrotal infantile hemangioma (IH). Diagnostic laparoscopy confirmed unilateral testicular agenesis with compensatory hypertrophy of the contralateral testis. This rare concurrence suggests that isolated gonadal agenesis may be part of the spectrum of caudal anomalies associated with segmental lower body hemangiomas. Recognition of such associations may warrant broader evaluation of infants with lower body IH for occult gonadal anomalies.
