Abstract:
The position paper by Ellaway and Wyatt [1] offers timely input in discussions of advocacy, resistance, and professionalism in medical education. However, we argue that the framing of professionalism they offer is institutionally driven and too narrow in its attention to moral agency, structural injustice, and the sociocultural framing of professional identity. More emphasis is also needed on the structural dimensions of professionalism.
