Emerging antibody-drug conjugates in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer

Abstract:
Despite recent advances in therapies, metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) remains incurable with poor prognosis in which novel, more effective treatments are urgently needed. Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are a novel class of agents comprised of a monoclonal antibody directed against a cell surface target of interest that delivers a cytotoxic payload through a cleavable linker. While they have achieved tremendous success in other genitourinary cancers such as urothelial cancer, ADCs have promising activity in mCRPC. In this review, we will provide a high-level overview of ADCs and associated cell surface targets being investigated in mCRPC.
