FineCross M3 Microcatheter for Balloon Uncrossable Lesions

Balloon and microcatheter uncrossable lesions can be challenging to treat. Possible treatment options include small balloons, increasing guide catheter support, using specialized microcatheters, laser, atherectomy, or extraplaque crossing strategies. The FineCross M3 microcatheter (Terumo) has a low-profile and a hydrophilic coating. We describe three cases of successful use of the FineCross M3 to cross balloon/microcatheter uncrossable lesions after failure of other crossing modalities, highlighting its favorable combination of crossing ability and safety profile, including a securely attached distal marker with lower risk of tip separation than some alternative low-profile microcatheters.
