Molecular detection of Fonsecaea pedrosoi in Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Rhipicephalus microplus ticks from

Fonsecaea pedrosoi, the fungus causing chromoblastomycosis, was unexpectedly found dominating tick microbiomes in Venezuela. This discovery suggests ticks may play a role in the transmission of this fungal infection.
