Abstract:
Complement C1q-binding protein (C1QBP) is exploited by protozoan parasites. In this forum, we summarize direct evidence for C1QBP as an adhesion receptor (Plasmodium) and an immune subversion target (Toxoplasma), highlight gaps, and propose research priorities to define C1QBP as a multifunctional signaling hub at the host-parasite interface.
