Endovascular Coil Embolization of Ruptured Idiopathic Multiple Bilateral Pulmonary Artery Aneurysms: A Case Report

Pulmonary artery aneurysms are rare vascular abnormalities with a diverse etiologies, including infection, vasculitis, trauma, and congenital disorders. Untreated aneurysms carry a substantial risk of rupture and mortality, particularly in symptomatic individuals. We report a case of a 24-year-old man who presented with hemoptysis and progressive shortness of breath over 1 month. Computed tomography angiography revealed multiple bilateral saccular aneurysms of the pulmonary arteries, one of which was ruptured. Subsequently, urgent endovascular embolization of all aneurysms using detachable coils was performed. The procedure was technically successful and uneventful, resulting in marked clinical improvement. This case illustrates a rare presentation of idiopathic bilateral pulmonary artery aneurysms with concurrent rupture and supports endovascular embolization as a safe and effective treatment option in such cases.
