Abstract:
An electrochemical radical reaction between cyclic 1,3-dicarbonyls and alkenes is reported herein to give di- and tricyclic dihydrofuran derivatives. This methodology proceeds via a direct oxidative addition/cyclization sequence without the requirement of catalyst or exogenous oxidant, and with hydrogen as the sole by-product.
