Objectives:
This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the benefits and harms of physical prehabilitation (i.e. exercise-based interventions delivered before surgery) alone or as part of a multimodal programme compared with no exercise-based intervention, usual care, or a different intervention in people undergoing major abdominal surgery.
