Abstract:
Seminal vesicle mixed epithelial-stromal tumor (MEST) is an exceptionally rare neoplasm. We report a 64-year-old man who developed a 7.5-cm pelvic recurrence seven years after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy and bilateral seminal vesiculectomy for a right-sided MEST. He successfully underwent robot-assisted salvage re-excision. The recurrent mass was well-circumscribed without gross invasion into adjacent organs. Pathology confirmed a borderline recurrent MEST with negative margins. This case emphasizes the potential for delayed local recurrence in seminal vesicle MEST, mandating long-term surveillance, and illustrates the feasibility of robotic salvage surgery in a previously operated pelvis.
