Abstract:
The first unsymmetric diboryne (DieneIPr)BB(MeIPr) (DieneIPr = [(H2CCNDipp)2C:]; MeIPr = [(MeCNDipp)2C:]; Dipp = 2,6-iPr2C6H3) is reported. Combining (DieneIPr)BB(MeIPr) with CO led to new B2(CO)x adducts, e.g., the bis(boraketene) carbonyl DieneIPr(OC)B{CO}B(CO)MeIPr and the novel metal-free [4+1] cycloaddition of CO with a diene unit.
