Bouncing back: Transient, but not long-lasting, effects of background disturbances on speech processing

Auditory attention is resilient to brief speech disruptions. While background noise temporarily diverts focus, cognitive processing quickly recovers, showing no lasting impact on comprehension or attention-deficit symptoms.
