Abstract:
This Perspective aimed to synthesize evidence of Porphyromonas gingivalis hematogenous translocation from periodontal lesions to the left atrium, outline GAL3/TGF-β1-mediated atrial fibrotic remodeling pathways, evaluate critical limitations of current preclinical and human data, and propose translatable upstream periodontal interventions for atrial fibrillation risk reduction.
