Abstract:
In this study, a rare-earth yttrium-based electrolyte system comprising yttrium trifluoromethanesulfonate (Y(OTf)3) and LiNO3 is designed. It helps form an anion-rich solvation structure and induces the generation of a Y-Li alloy layer, obtaining a robust and conductive inorganic-rich SEI film, which suppresses the growth of lithium (Li) dendrites and stabilizes the Li metal anode.
