Abstract:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) remains among the most prevalent conditions in men. Current surgical treatments are associated with a higher risk for perioperative complications, which drives growing interest in robot-assisted simple prostatectomy (RASP) research. This bibliometric analysis demonstrates visual mappings of collaboration patterns, publication trends, influential contributors, and core knowledge bases. The primary database was Scopus, covering 2008-2025. Data analysis and visualization were conducted using Biblioshiny and VOSviewer. Publications began to surge after 2020, reaching a record high in 2025. The Journal of Endourology established itself as the most influential venue for this topic with 17 documents. Collaborative networks on this topic span 10 countries across 2 clusters. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identified frequently recurring research themes, including "benign prostatic hyperplasia," "simple prostatectomy," "lower urinary tract symptoms," and "robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy". This bibliometric analysis illustrates the expanding research landscape, the growing interest among researchers in RASP, and the need for a broader collaborative network spanning more countries.
