Abstract:
This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using a columellar lateral wall composite pedicle flap for the simultaneous correction of hanging columella and alar rim retraction. A columellar lateral wall flap was designed, everted, and inset to the incision margin of the lower lateral cartilage. Satisfactory results were obtained in correcting both hanging columella and alar rim retraction. The authors conclude that the surgical technique using a columellar lateral wall composite pedicle flap is feasible and effective for the simultaneous correction of these 2 nasal deformities.
