Application Effect of Whole-process Quality Nursing Model Based on the WeChat Platform in Hysteroscopic Day Surgery
1Department of Gynaecology, Wuhan University Zhongnan Hospital, Wuhan, Hubei, China.
Purpose:
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a whole-process quality nursing model based on the WeChat platform in patients undergoing hysteroscopic day surgery for endometrial polyps (EPs).
Methods:
A total of 84 patients with EPs were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group or an observation group (n = 42 each) using a random number table. All patients underwent hysteroscopic day surgery. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received a WeChat-based whole-process quality nursing intervention. Outcomes included incidence of complications, length of hospital stay, anxiety (Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, SAS), pain (visual analog scale, VAS), quality of life (36-Item Short Form Health Survey, SF-36), self-care ability (Self-Care Ability Scale, ESCA), and satisfaction with nursing care.
Findings:
The observation group had a significantly shorter length of hospital stay compared to the control group (P < .001). Anxiety and pain scores were significantly lower in the observation group than in the control group (both P < .001). Scores for self-care skills, self-care knowledge, self-care responsibility, and self-care concept were significantly higher in the observation group (P < .001, P < .001, P = .002, and P = .006, respectively). Similarly, the observation group showed higher scores in social functioning, role functioning, psychological functioning, and physical functioning (P = .003, P < .001, P = .002, and P = .043, respectively). Overall satisfaction was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (P = .043). Although the incidence of complications was lower in the observation group, the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (P = .137).
Conclusions:
A WeChat-based whole-process quality nursing model may reduce hospital stay, improve quality of life and self-care ability, and enhance patient satisfaction in patients undergoing hysteroscopic day surgery for EPs.
