Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) profiling detects actionable genomic alterations in advanced biliary tract cancer faster (8 vs 27 days) and more often (90% vs 50%) than tissue, with high concordance. A recent retrospective study establishes clinical validity and a compelling access case for future prospective ctDNA-directed trials.
