Abstract:
Prostate cancer remains one of the most prevalent malignancies among men, necessitating effective radiotherapy strategies to improve patient outcomes. This review examines the current techniques employed in radiotherapy for prostate cancer, including external beam radiation therapy (EBRT), brachytherapy, and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). We analyze the clinical outcomes associated with these modalities, highlighting advancements in treatment precision, dose escalation, and the integration of imaging technologies that enhance targeting accuracy. Furthermore, the review addresses the importance of personalized patient care, emphasizing the role of multidisciplinary teams in treatment planning and management of side effects. Recent studies indicate that tailored approaches, considering individual patient characteristics and preferences, can significantly improve quality of life and treatment adherence. Additionally, we discuss emerging trends in radiotherapy, such as the incorporation of novel biomarkers and the potential of combination therapies, which may further optimize therapeutic efficacy. This abstract underscores the critical need for ongoing research and innovation in radiotherapy strategies to enhance outcomes and patient care in prostate cancer treatment.
