A molten-NaCl-derived Cl-doped N-carbon with abundant sp³/edge defects steers non-radical peroxymonosulfate activation for rapid tetracycline degradation via singlet oxygen. This chlorine-based defect engineering strategy offers a simple approach to steer non-radical persulfate oxidation.
