Introduction:
Women's health-promoting lifestyles are a significant global concern for healthcare providers and researchers. International programs, such as the Millennium Development Goals, specifically focus on enhancing women's health, particularly in marginalized communities. Ethnographic studies offer valuable insights into the cultural contexts and specific needs of these women. Critical ethnography promotes equity and social justice in health by challenging dominant systems and amplifying the voices of marginalized individuals. By gaining a deeper understanding of their challenges, targeted strategies can be developed to improve the health and well-being of marginalized women.
Methods/Design:
The critical ethnographic approach used in this study is based on the method developed by Carspecken's 1996, which includes three preliminary (preparation of a list of questions, determination of the required information, researcher value orientation test) and five main stages (Compilation of primary records, Preliminary reconstructive analysis, Dialogical data generation, Description of system relations, System relations, and system relations as an explanation for the findings).
Discussion:
This research aims to provide effective solutions for enhancing the health of women living on the outskirts of the city by identifying the lifestyle factors that promote women's health in these areas and analyzing and critiquing the historical, social, economic, and cultural structures that influence their well-being.
