Background:
The nursing practice readiness of new graduate nurses is a key factor in enabling them to confront transitional challenges, adapt to clinical work, and enhance the quality of nursing care. However, new graduate nurses commonly report a lack of sufficient preparedness upon entering the workforce after graduation.
Methods:
Using a cluster sampling method, data were collected from 518 new graduate nurses across 10 hospitals in Central China from April 2025 to September 2025. Network analysis was applied to visualize and identify the core associations among the essentials of magnetism, grit, and nursing practice readiness, and to assess the centrality of each node.
Results:
Within the network structure, Clinical judgment and nursing performance, Collaborative interpersonal relationship and Professional attitudes emerged as the most central nodes. Furthermore, Educational Support demonstrated the strongest expected influence, while Collaborative interpersonal relationship and Professional attitudes exhibited the highest bridge strength.
Conclusion:
Clinical judgment and nursing performance of new graduate nurses is the most critical node in the network, and Collaborative interpersonal relationship and professional attitudes function as both a central and a bridging nodes. Nursing managers should strengthen educational support and develop targeted intervention programs to enhance nursing practice readiness.
