Abstract:
A multi-scale turbulence coherent scattering diagnostic system development on the HL-3 tokamak is described with technical details, including custom laser development, light pipe design for laser beam propagation in free space, window designs, scattering light detection optical design and alignment, and a mixer bias circuit design with soft turn on and off function for the mixer protection. Preliminary turbulence measurement data with a wavenumber range from 0 to 11 cm-1 have been obtained, and correlation between turbulence activity and plasma confinement property variation is observed.
