[Possibilities of using dental implants for personal identification in forensic medical practice]
1Research Center for Forensic Expertise and Research, Moscow, Russia.
Abstract:
The article examines constructive, radiological, and material-related features of dental implants that form reproducible forensic identification profiles under conditions of tissue destruction and skeletal fragmentation. Combined CBCT-based morphometry, surface microstructural analysis, and traceological assessment enable typological classification of implant systems and individualized comparison with ante-mortem dental records. The integration of digital manufacturer registries is substantiated as a key factor in improving identification accuracy during mass fatality incidents.
