Summary

A new non-invasive method using the Japan Scar Workshop Scar Scale (JSS) and cosine of the angle (cosθ) effectively differentiates dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) from keloids. This JSS × cosθ scoring system offers a safe alternative to biopsy for diagnosing these skin conditions.
