Purpose Of The Review:
To summarize existing literature on the outcomes of Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO2) therapy for RC and focus on recent updates since the original 2018 scoping review.
Recent Findings:
The literature continues to support HBO2's effectiveness at improving gross hematuria with recent studies showing at least a partial response in 66-100% of patients. Recent data further show an improvement in both urinary symptoms and overall quality of life measures. Data further shows that HBO2 is safe and adverse events are usually associated with barotrauma, particularly otic barotrauma. Recent data continue to show that HBO2 therapy is a safe and cost-effective tool for treating patients with radiation cystitis-induced gross hematuria. The majority of patients treated with HBO2 will experience at least a partial response. Further data is needed to evaluate the optimum timing, dose, and duration of HBO2 treatment.

Cancer Therapies
However, cancer treatments can pose several challenges, as therapies used to kill cancer cells are generally also toxic to normal cells. Moreover, cancer cells mutate rapidly and can develop resistance to chemical agents or radiation therapy. Besides, all types of cancer cells may not respond to the same therapy. Some cancer cells respond to one...
