Several authors have explored the use of hypnosis in addressing female issues related to eating disorders, anorexia, and bulimia, and in particular those related to the specificity of the female body connected to bones, blood and hormones at different stages of life: from menarche to menopause, through pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, thus linked to the specificity of the female body as a reproductive function of the human species. This article goes beyond menopause and aims at exploring the contribution of hypnosis in addressing the theme of aging as a phase of life that, despite bringing one's own and others' deaths closer, can be experienced as an experimental, flexible, and creative season of life.
