Extracellular vesicles play roles as critical mediators of cell-cell communications. We recently discovered that ganglioside content in extracellular vesicles was approximately 30 times higher than in cells, and GM1 in extracellular vesicles specifically binds to laminin. In this chapter, we describe a method to prepare cells expressing specific gangliosides and introduce in vitro experiments to evaluate the binding ability of extracellular vesicles and liposomes containing gangliosides to the extracellular matrix.
