[Paradigm shift of acupuncture and moxibustion: from the traditional to the modern]

The modern acupuncture and moxibustion system is developed not based on the logical continuation of the traditional system, but rather on the paradigm shift of acupuncture and moxibustion system. They (the traditional and the modern) represent two distinct systems, differing fundamentally in philosophical foundations, logical methodologies, conceptual frameworks, and practical principles of acupuncture and moxibustion. They belong to different paradigms and cannot engage in logical dialogue with one another. The core of theoretical research of traditional acupuncture and moxibustion lies not in exploring its modern essence, but in restoring its original form; whereas for the modern acupuncture and moxibustion, the core of its theoretical research is the reconstruction of the conceptual framework of acupuncture and moxibustion within the context of modern science, rather than the contemporary interpretation of meridians and meridian theory.
