[A new model of precision acupuncture regulation for emotional disorders based on the AI4S paradigm]

In the context of medical transformation driven by the fifth scientific paradigm of artificial intelligence (AI4S), a novel acupuncture therapy that integrates traditional acupuncture theory with modern intelligent technologies is proposed: intelligent transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (ITEAS). To address current clinical challenges such as the high heterogeneity of emotional disorder treatment and the difficulty in efficacy evaluation, ITEAS makes breakthroughs through three key strategies: it constructs a precise profiling system for suitable populations along with an intelligent recommendation system; it integrates a closed-loop regulatory system based on multimodal biofeedback; and it adopts a wearable and home-adaptable design. Compared with traditional acupuncture, ITEAS demonstrates significant advantages in the standardization of treatment parameters, objectivity of efficacy evaluation, and adaptability to diverse application scenarios. Taking the theoretical and technological innovation as well as the practical application of ITEAS as an example, this paper explores the technological pathway for the modernization of acupuncture in the era of artificial intelligence, and offers a new model for the precision treatment of emotional disorders.
