Abstract:
Hyperglycemia is among the core pathological characteristics of diabetes. Food-derived hypoglycemic peptides represent promising natural antidiabetic agents with low toxicity and high activity, but their structure-activity relationship (SAR) and multitarget regulatory mechanisms remain largely unclear. This paper reviews the main food sources, preparation methods, and structural characteristics of hypoglycemic peptides. Emphasis is placed on the combined application of network pharmacology and molecular docking in target identification and interaction analysis. Current limitations, including incomplete databases and insufficient experimental validation, are discussed, and corresponding improvements involving deep learning and biological verification are proposed. This review provides a theoretical basis for the rational design, efficient development, and industrial application of highly active food-derived hypoglycemic peptides.
