Abstract:
Solid-state analogues of ionic liquids containing a cetyl-alkyl group act as efficient hosts with designer capabilities for generating viable host-guest room-temperature phosphorescence systems, with the combination of an aliphatic cyclic cation and bromide anion exhibiting superior host capabilities when a set of all-organic phosphorescent dyes is used as guests.
