Abstract:
Herein, we report the synthesis and characterization of a MeCAAO-stabilized disilene (3), which is stable below 263 K. Upon warming to room temperature, it reacts with the by-product BrSi(SiMe3)3, affording the corresponding oxidative product (4). Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to obtain deeper insight into the electronic structures of the compounds.
