Objective:
To evaluate the metabolic parameters of emergency nursing professionals before and after the use of Rosmarinus officinalis L.
Method:
This is a quasi-experimental study conducted in urgency services in Southern Brazil. Estimated sample of 46 nursing professionals. It took place from August to November 2022 and used a socio-labor questionnaire, blood collection and anthropometric measurements. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results:
A total of 36 professionals participated. After the intervention, there was a reduction in triglyceride and total cholesterol parameters; high-density lipoprotein dosage decreased, with maintenance of the parameter within the normal range; there were no changes in blood glucose levels, body mass index or Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
Conclusion:
After using Rosmarinus, there was a reduction in triglycerides and total cholesterol in nursing professionals.
