Abstract:
Semiconductor magic-size clusters (MSCs) exhibit atomically precise structures with intermediate size between molecules and nanocrystals. Although these MSCs are generally studied as a subfield of quantum dots (QDs), they already exhibit distinct characteristics not found in conventional quantum dots. In this review, we highlight these distinct features such as atomic-coordinated-dependent band gap, first-order kinetic formation/isomerization, and hierarchical assembly behaviors.
