Abstract:
Homologous recombination is a high-fidelity DNA repair mechanism used by mitotic cells to repair double-strand breaks and other types of DNA damage. This process preferentially uses a sister chromatid as a template, ensuring error-free repair, but can also use a homologous sequence on another chromosome. Here, methods are described that can be used to measure recombination between sister chromatids or homologs.
