Abstract:
PNA-peptide conjugates are explored as potential antisense drugs and as probes in molecular biology, which demands rapid and efficient synthesis protocols that enable isolation of amounts suitable for establishing structure-activity relationships and for in vivo studies in animal disease models. Here, Fmoc/Boc-protected PNA monomers are utilized in the assembly of oligomers via optimized protocols involving either manual synthesis at room temperature or automated microwave-assisted coupling of monomers using a peptide synthesizer.
